Meet Dr. Lynn Dickens of the Allergy, Sinus, & Asthma Professionals
My name is Dr. Lynn Dickens and I’m a board certified allergist in the West side of Houston for the past 18 years. I graduated from Baylor College of Medicine Pediatric Residency in 1990 and then I did my allergy and immunology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine Texas Children’s Hospital for 2 years and also did a partial pulmonology in pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. I’ve been in practice ever since. I primarily take care of all ages, I don’t take care of just children, but I would say 30% of my patient population is under 18 at least, probably closer to 40%.
What are Allergy, Sinus and Asthma Professionals (A.S.A.P.)?
That is the mnemonic for our group really, and the way that started was that I was working with Dr. Linda Goran and we were called that. Basically, that encompasses what we do. And a large part of an allergist does is take care of people with both sinus problems and asthma and they’re very closely linked. And so we made the pneumonic, A.S.A.P, that combined all of these things. We’re professionals at that and professionals at what we do because we have to graduate and be board certified to do this kind of specialized care.
